SAAB & HAL to collaborate on future Integrated Defense Aids Suite for ALH

SAAB India said that Saab is in the final stages of carrying out a full Transfer of Technology for its Integrated Defence Aids Suite to India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and also has confirmed that the future version of Integrated defence suite-3 will jointly be developed with HAL in India.

Saab’s Integrated Defence Aids Suite system was first integrated with the Indian Army and Indian Air Forces version of ALH Dhruv in the year 2005 and more than 200 Dhruv Helicopters including ALH Rudra WSI (Weapon Systems Integrated), an Armed variant in service with the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army helicopters have been equipped with this suit and in future will also be equipped on the HAL developed Light Combat Helicopters.

Integrated Defence Aids Suite is a combination of radar warning receivers supported by the missile and laser warning receivers, that, with the right tactics and countermeasures, offers the combat helicopter a superior situational awareness with an ability to act fast in response to multiple threats.

Integrated Defence Aids Suite integrates laser warning sensors with the ability to detect four types of laser threats, Laser Range finder, Laser Beam rider, Laser Designator & Dazzlers.
