Indian Army has issued a Request for Proposals for Software Defined Radios

For secure military communication, the Indian Army has published an Expression of Interest for indigenously designed, produced, and manufactured Software Defined Radios. The project for High Frequency Manpacks Software Defined Radios will be carried out under Make-II of the Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020, which calls for 50 percent indigenous content.

Within 24 months of the contract award, 4 units must be supplied in the prototype phase, and 300 units must be bought in the procurement phase. Software Defined Radios with High Frequency Manpacks are necessary to offer communication beyond line of sight in both clear and secure modes, as well as the ability to transmit speech, audio, video, and data.
