India to supply Armenia with pinaka multi-barrel rockets

Armenia has placed an order with India for the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, which was created and built by the DRDO. This is the system’s first significant export order. While the specific Pinaka model and quantity ordered by Armenia are unknown, the order was carried out in a government-to-government transaction for 2000 crores together with a number of other weaponry.

Additionally, Armenia purchased anti-tank weapons from India. 4 Swathi Weapons Locating Radars were ordered by Armenia in 2020 at a cost of 360 crores.

The international community recognises Nagorno-Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory, yet the region is primarily inhabited by Armenians, leading to an ongoing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, they fought a war there, and again two years ago, when Azerbaijan recaptured large tracts of land in a six-week fight that lost over 6,600 lives.
