GE F-404 & F-414 Engines Testbed In India

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to establish aa GE F-404 Engine Test Bed & Modular Change Workshop building at IAF Naliya, Gujarat and GE F-404 Engine Test Bed building at IAF Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and MCW building at Indian Airforce NAL, Rajasthan.

HAL has released a Tender for the Design and Consultancy services for the Engine Testbed. The appropriate cost of the Project is Rs 5395.81 Lakhs. The tender is under Too Bid mode.

Establishment of GE  F-404 Engine testbed will support the supply chain for the F-404 Engines. These Engines will be used in Fighter Jets Fleet of Indian Airforce.

The F-404 family of engines has proven itself in operations all over the world & GE & HAL will produce approximately 99 engines by 2029 for Tejas Mk1 & Tejas MK1A Fighter Jets.

HAL looks forward to producing the more powerful F-414 engine in India. The F-414 will power the developmental Tejas Mk2 which features a number of improvements over the original fighter & even power the upcoming 5th generation fighter jet AMCA & TEDBF. F404 family engines have logged more than 14 million engine flight hours, and powered 15 different production and prototype aircraft.
