The Future Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV) which was created by the private business Larsen and Toubro for evaluation purposes, may have its first photograph shared by Rashtriya Astra Forum on its Twitter account.

For the purpose of testing and evaluation, the Indian Army requested that the prototype be built by Larsen & Toubro under the Make category.

Army’s Request for Information from the previous year sought to acquire three FICV variants with induction by 2026–2027 and a composition of 55% FICV with 30mm 2A–42 armament, 20% as Command, and 25% as Command & Surveillance.

The same money will be awarded to two other businesses, one private and one PSU, for the creation of a prototype that is tailored to the needs of the Indian Army.

The Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment of the DRDO served as the design inspiration for the Larsen and Toubro FICV.
