Since many other nations have expressed interest in the India-specific modified M4 vehicles, Paramount Group, a South African defence firm, and India’s Kalyani Group are in negotiations to expand operations. The Indian Specific M4 armoured vehicle was designed with over 95% Indigenous content.
The most effective M4 to yet, constructed in India by Kalyani for the Indian Army, may soon be supplied to nations in Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East which have expressed interest in the armoured vehicle.
In order to increase the lethality of M4 armoured vehicles, the Indian Army, which was pleased with the performance, planned to equip them with the Israeli Spike anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system. M4 provides extremely high levels of mine and ballistic protection (for instance, crew compartment STANAG 4569 Level 3 and blast protection of STANAG 4569 Level 4a & 4b), as well as defence against a roadside bomb or an IED weighing 50 kg.
